The driver who died in this morning’s crash on Old Dalby Rd, Leicestershire, has been identified as an employee of a local contracting firm.

Jack Woodward

Jack Woodward was a staff driver and respected member at the Hyslop & Son Agri Contractors (a Leicestershire-based contractor). The firm identified Jack as the victim in the crash that happened Thursday morning around 7am.

Leicestershire Police and the East Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the scene of a deadly collision on Nottingham Lane at approximately 7.10am following a report a black Land Rover Discovery had left the carriageway and gone into a ditch. Police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved.

The driver of the Land Rover – a man – was treated by doctors at the scene but sadly died shortly after the collision occurred. The road was closed while emergency services remain at the scene. Police announced around 17.31 that the roads are now reopened. Thank you for your patience

PC Ellise Timmins, from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said, “Our investigation to establish the circumstances of the collision is continuing, and I’d like to speak to anyone who can help.

Jack Woodward was survived by his family, friends, and colleagues. A visitation hour schedule will be released.
