The York County Coroner’s Office has identified 16-year-old Nathan Martinez as the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend in Clover, South Carolina.
The incident happened around midnight on Saturday, July 26, 2025, on Paddlers Cove Drive. Emergency responders were called to the scene, but despite efforts to save him, Martinez was pronounced dead.
Authorities have arrested 19-year-old Noah Walter, also from Clover, in connection with the shooting. Walter is currently being held and has been charged with murder.
At this time, investigators have not released details regarding the motive or circumstances leading up to the shooting. The York County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation and has made a public request for any residents in the area who may have video surveillance footage of Paddlers Cove Drive between 11:30 p.m. on Friday, July 25, and 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, to come forward.
