A tragic hit-and-run crash in the Dallas Design District early Sunday morning has claimed the life of Seth Rains, a pedestrian and Austin, Texas resident. His family has confirmed his identity as the victim in the fatal incident.

According to a statement from the Dallas Police Department, officers responded to the scene around 2:40 a.m. at the intersection of Turtle Creek Boulevard and Market Center Boulevard. Investigators determined that a vehicle struck Rains and then fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

Dallas Fire-Rescue transported Rains to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect vehicle and driver remain at large, and police have launched a full investigation into the incident. No further details about the vehicle or potential witnesses have been released at this time.
