Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning at a motel near Carowinds amusement park.
The York County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Kendale Williams, 23, of North Carolina, was the individual killed in the incident. The announcement came on Monday, July 28, following the completion of a preliminary investigation.
The shooting took place around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, at the Motel 6 located on Foothills Way in Fort Mill. Responding deputies discovered Williams suffering from gunshot wounds in the motel’s parking lot. Despite efforts by emergency personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
