The fire broke out early Thursday morning and prompted a rapid response from the Oklahoma City Fire Department. During a search of the home, firefighters discovered a woman inside. By Monday, police confirmed the victim’s identity as Kellie Slaughter. Newly obtained court documents reveal that in the days prior to the fire, Kellie had filed for divorce. Both she and her husband had also sought mutual protective orders, each citing abuse and threats from the other.
Kellie’s protective order detailed alarming accusations against her husband, including threats, physical harm, and property damage.
