The La Vernia community is grieving the heartbreaking and unexpected loss of Chandler Uhi, who tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident on San Antonio’s Southside. Chandler’s life was cut short far too soon, leaving behind a beloved young son and a family shattered by grief.
Known for his kind heart and deep love for his son, Chandler was a bright light to those who knew him. His sudden passing has left an immeasurable void, and the family asks for prayers and support as they navigate this devastating time.
Adding to the heartbreak, this is the second child that Chandler’s mother, Charlene, has lost. Her daughter, Haley, was among the victims of the Sutherland Springs church mass shooting in 2017. Since that tragedy, Charlene has dedicated herself to honoring Haley’s memory by helping others—providing Christmas gifts and school supplies to families in need every year in Haley’s name.
Now, the community is rallying around Charlene and her grandson, offering love and support to a family that has endured more loss than any should.
Funeral arrangements for Chandler will be shared as soon as they are finalized.
For those who wish to help, the family has established an official GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses and provide care for Chandler’s young son. Your generosity will make a difference during this painful time.
