Hope Hutton Casey, beloved daughter of Patrick and Susan Casey, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025. Her departure has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished forever by her loving family, her many friends, and the countless lives she touched through her compassion and generosity.
Born into a family filled with love, Hope shared a close and abiding bond with her parents, Patrick and Susan, who nurtured her gentle heart and curious spirit.
She was also a devoted sister to Quinn Casey and his wife, Dr. Julia Ferris, and to her younger sister, Neave Casey, with whom she shared laughter, love, and countless memories. Her kindness extended throughout her extended family, including her grandmothers, Kathleen Casey and Judith Goehring, who adored her deeply.
Hope was part of a large and loving family network. She is survived by her Aunt Maria Casey, Uncles Michael Casey and John Dudek; her Uncle and Aunt William Goehring and Suzanne Duff; her Aunt and Uncle Ellen and Rodney Skirpan; and a cherished group of cousins who brought joy and camaraderie into her life: Zach Skirpan (June, Timothy, and Paul), Max Skirpan (Vivian), Sam Skirpan (Lauren), Cate West, Christian Santos, and Alyssa and Anna Dudek.
Hope will be remembered most for her remarkable kindness, fierce empathy, and the deep compassion she extended to those around her. From a young age, she displayed an uncanny ability to understand and comfort others, and her generous spirit made her a source of solace to many.
Hope was particularly dedicated to supporting individuals struggling with addiction. She possessed a natural gift for listening without judgment and offering a supportive presence, and she often used her own experiences to uplift and encourage those facing similar challenges.
Her legacy of empathy will live on in the hearts of the many lives she quietly helped to heal. Equally drawn to the joy and innocence of childhood, Hope had a natural rapport with children.
Whether volunteering, babysitting, or simply being around kids, she had a way of making young people feel seen, heard, and loved. Her playful, gentle nature made her a favorite among the children in her life, and her ability to connect with them was truly special.
Hope was also a lifelong animal lover. The Casey family dogs held a special place in her heart, and she found joy, peace, and comfort in their companionship. Whether going for long walks, cuddling on the couch, or simply being in their presence, Hope found healing and happiness through her connection with animals.
To her friends and family, Hope was a beautiful light—a gentle soul whose sincerity, warmth, and selflessness left a lasting impression. Her laughter was infectious, her spirit uplifting, and her heart always open. She approached life with grace and courage, even in the face of her own struggles, and inspired others with her strength and unwavering compassion.
A celebration of Hope’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at South County Brewing Company, 170 Crossway Drive, York, PA 17402. All are welcome to join in honoring her memory, sharing stories, and celebrating the incredible person she was.
