A 31-year-old Jonathan Simmons-Miller of Gaithersburg, Maryland was fatally stabbed early Wednesday near the Howard University campus, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded around 12:20 a.m. to reports of a stabbing in the 700 block of V Street NW. When they arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from a stab wound. DC Fire and EMS transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead after life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.
The victim has been identified as Jonathan Simmons-Miller of Gaithersburg, Maryland.
As of Thursday, no arrests have been made in connection to the fatal incident. The investigation remains ongoing, and police have not released any details about a possible suspect or motive.
In an effort to generate leads, the Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
