The Lebanon Police Department has identified 29-year-old Dahlton Fairbank of Bristol as the suspect in a stabbing that occurred Thursday morning at Colburn Park.

According to investigators, the incident happened shortly before 9 a.m. when Fairbank allegedly stabbed a man in the neck during an altercation. The victim suffered serious injuries, and Fairbank reportedly fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Surveillance footage captured a man believed to be Fairbank running north through Colburn Park shortly after the stabbing. Witnesses later reported seeing someone matching his description heading south along Interstate 89. Investigators confirmed that Fairbank was picked up near the interstate and driven back to his home in Bristol.

Police later executed a search warrant at Fairbank’s residence, where they discovered clothing that appeared to match what he wore during the attack. Authorities also recovered several knives and Fairbank’s cell phone. However, he had already left the home on foot by the time officers arrived.

Fairbank is now wanted on several charges, including felony assault, unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon, and reckless conduct. Police have warned that he should be considered armed and dangerous, urging the public not to approach him and to report any sightings immediately.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and are actively working to locate Fairbank. So far, no information has been released about a possible motive or the relationship between Fairbank and the victim. The victim’s condition remains listed as serious, with no further updates provided.

The stabbing has unsettled the typically quiet Colburn Park area, prompting an increased police presence as the investigation continues. Lebanon Police are working in coordination with other regional law enforcement agencies and are asking for the public’s help.

Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in or around Colburn Park or along I-89 on Thursday morning is encouraged to contact the Lebanon Police Department at 603-448-1212. Even seemingly minor details may aid in the search and help bring resolution to the case.

More updates will be released as the investigation progresses. In the meantime, locating Dahlton Fairbank and ensuring public safety remain the department’s top priorities.
