A tragic accident early Wednesday morning has claimed the life of a young man from North Heidelberg Township. Daniel A. Kundrat, 24, died following a devastating crash involving his motorcycle and a sedan on Route 422 in South Heidelberg Township.

The collision occurred shortly after 5:30 a.m. on July 30 in the 6600 block of Penn Avenue, near the intersection with Old West Penn Avenue. According to the South Heidelberg Township Police Department, Kundrat was operating a motorcycle eastbound in the center lane of Route 422 when a westbound sedan attempted to make a left turn onto Old West Penn Avenue.
