UPDATE: Brown has been found dead after he was last seen fleeing the scene in a stolen 2007 white Ford F-150 pickup with Montana plates DTY493. The vehicle was spotted heading west of Anaconda on Stumptown Road.

The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center has identified the suspect who shot and killed four people in Anaconda, Montana, on Friday.

45-year-old Michael Brown of Anaconda, MT, was named as the shooter who killed four people at the Owl Bar. Mickey was a known local in the area. Law enforcement agencies identified an ex-military man.

Victims Identified Locally

Locals have identified the victims in the deadly shooting as all residents of the community. One of the victims was named as Brown Key, a beloved elderly local and grandfather.

“Suspect house in Anaconda was cleared by SWAT, suspect still at large. Avoid the Anaconda area. Stay vigilant, report any suspicious activity to the Granite County Sheriff’s office.

The white F-150 that was in pursuit out of Anaconda is stopped in Deer Lodge County. Was not the suspect. Stand by for more info as it comes. As of right now no threat to the citizens of Granite County at this time. Remain vigilant; I will update when more info is received.

There is an active shooter in Anaconda Deer Lodge. Granite County deputies are at the Georgetown Lake / Flint Creek area. The shooter is said to be wearing a tie-dyed shirt, blue jeans, and an orange bandana. There is no threat to Granite County at this time.”
