The Kansas City Police Department has confirmed the identity of the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred Friday afternoon in the heart of the city. The victim has been identified as Robert Benedict, 48.
According to authorities, the incident took place near the intersection of 8th Street and Benton Boulevard, where officers responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Benedict suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
