The Houston Police Department is actively searching for two individuals, including a teenager, who have been charged with murder in connection to the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Davion Elzy earlier this year.
The tragic incident took place on a May afternoon just before 4 p.m. in the parking lot of a convenience store on Northborough Drive in north Houston. Responding officers arrived to find Elzy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital by emergency medical personnel, but despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Authorities have identified 19-year-old Cameron Ray and an unnamed 16-year-old male as suspects in the case. Due to his age, the identity of the juvenile has not been released. Both individuals have been charged with murder and are currently at large.
Police have not yet released details regarding a possible motive or the relationship between Elzy and the suspects. Investigators continue to gather evidence, including surveillance footage and witness statements, to better understand what led to the deadly encounter.
The Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division is urging the public to come forward with any information that might help locate the suspects.
This senseless act of violence has devastated Elzy’s family and community, leaving many mourning the loss of a young life with so much promise. Police are committed to bringing those responsible to justice and are calling on the public’s help to do so.
