The incident took place around 6:40 p.m. in the 13800 block of NE 54th Place. MCSO deputies responded to a report of a shooting and arrived to find an adult white male, later identified as Jones, suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies rendered immediate aid until Marion County Fire Rescue arrived; however, Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
MCSO Major Crimes detectives are actively investigating the incident and conducting interviews with all parties involved. Authorities have not yet released further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing, and MCSO has stated that updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
