With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Caleb Raney, 18, of London, Arkansas, who died on July 27, 2025. A recent graduate of Dover High School, Caleb was preparing to embark on a promising future filled with ambition, service, and purpose.

He had plans to begin his studies in mechanical engineering at Arkansas Tech University in the spring of 2026, a dream that reflected both his passion for learning and his practical mindset.
Caleb was admired by his peers, teachers, and community for his strong character, thoughtful nature, and quiet determination. He graduated from Dover High School in May 2025, having left a positive mark both inside and outside the classroom.

While at Dover, Caleb was known not only for his academic focus but also for his involvement in school activities, particularly the Dover High School band, where his dedication and talent were a source of pride for the program.

More than just a student with academic aspirations, Caleb was also deeply committed to serving his country. In a selfless act of dedication and patriotism, he deferred his university studies to fulfill a commitment to the Army National Guard.

This choice spoke volumes about his sense of responsibility and his desire to contribute to something greater than himself. His decision reflected the values he carried throughout his life—service, integrity, and humility.

Caleb’s passing has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, classmates, and the community who saw in him a future filled with promise and potential.

He was a young man with a gentle spirit and a determined heart, someone who could be counted on for a kind word, a helping hand, or a quiet moment of encouragement.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Caleb’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 1, at the Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel in Russellville, Arkansas.

Family, friends, classmates, and members of the community are invited to attend and share in remembering the life of a young man gone far too soon. In lieu of flowers, Caleb’s family has requested that donations be made to the Dover High School band program in his memory.

Contributions can be sent via check to the Dover Band Boosters, 101 Pirate Loop, Dover, AR 72837. This gesture honors Caleb’s love for music and his lasting connection to the program that helped shape his high school experience.

Though Caleb’s time on this earth was brief, the impact he had on those who knew him will remain forever. His memory lives on through the values he stood for, the relationships he nurtured, and the path he was preparing to walk.
