Authorities in Bibb County are investigating a tragic single-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of two teenage boys early Friday morning in north Macon.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, on Zebulon Road near Coleparchee Road. Deputies responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call reporting a crash involving a pickup truck that had struck a tree.

The driver, identified as Alexander Floyd Strebeck, 18, of Forsyth, was operating a Dodge pickup truck when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree. The impact was severe, and both occupants of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle, Landon Brooks Lawless, 17, of Fort Valley, was ejected from the truck during the crash, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced both Strebeck and Lawless deceased at the scene.

Records confirm that both teens held valid driver’s licenses. Their families have been notified.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. It is not yet clear what led the vehicle to veer off the road, and officials have not indicated whether speed, fatigue, or other factors played a role.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information related to the crash to contact their office and request to speak with a fatality investigator at 478-751-7500.

This marks a heartbreaking loss for the Middle Georgia community, as loved ones and classmates mourn the deaths of two young men whose lives were cut tragically short.
